The Osuna Town Council, through the PFEA, is executing 19 interventions to improve mobility and accessibility on the municipality's streets, with special attention to people with reduced mobility.
The Osuna Town Council has launched a package of 19 actions to enhance urban accessibility and mobility at various points in the municipality, with an investment of €141,000. The works are part of the Agricultural Employment Promotion Plan (PFEA) and are being carried out in several streets in the urban area.
The municipal delegate for Works, Rafael Maraver, explained that the interventions are planned after holding regular meetings with associations and groups to understand their needs. The aim, he stated, is to facilitate movement along the roads, especially for people with reduced mobility and other vulnerable groups.
Among the actions already completed or underway are the creation of a raised crossing on San Cristóbal Street, the extension of pavements on Hazuelas and Las Prensas Streets, and a lowered crossing on Cuesta del Calvario. Work is also being done to eliminate unused lowered crossings on Ribera de la Pastora, Travesía de Fátima, and Padre Juanito streets.
Additionally, pedestrian crossings are being created at Multicentro Los Pinos, Alfonso XII, and Roda de Andalucía Street, and pedestrian crossings will be executed on San Roque, Travesía Veracruz, Roda de Andalucía, Pintor Jesús Quijada, Antonio Villa, Virgen de Belén, and Padre Juanito streets. The adaptation of pavements on Cruz and Cristo de la Paz streets completes the list of works.
Maraver highlighted that these initiatives continue the line of work developed in recent years, with projects such as the semi-pedestrianisation of Carrera Street or the single platform on Labrador, Gordillo, and Compañía streets. With this, the Town Council aims to continue adapting the municipality's roads to improve both accessibility and urban mobility.
The works are being carried out in phases and are expected to be completed in the coming months, according to municipal sources.
