The Employment delegate of the Utrera City Council, Isabel González Blanquero, values the evolution and emphasizes the idea of sustained reduction:
the data reflects a sustained reduction in unemployment in our city, as since May 2023, the number of unemployed people has decreased by nearly 25%, an evolution that encourages us to continue working
By gender, October ends with 1,426 men and 2,766 women unemployed. Compared to September, male unemployment decreases by 12 people and female unemployment by 30.
Since May 2023, the accumulated decrease is 445 men and 938 women. The reduction in female unemployment accounts for nearly 68% of the total decrease during the period.
The data for October in recent years shows the same trend. In 2023 there were 5,704 unemployed people, in 2024 5,234, in 2025 4,890, and in 2026 4,192. This represents 1,512 fewer unemployed than in October 2023, a 26.51% decrease.
Blanquero warns that the improvement does not reach everyone: "Although the data shows a positive trend, we are aware that there are still many people looking for a job opportunity." Therefore, she announces that the City Council will continue to promote training and guidance initiatives to facilitate access to the job market in the locality.
