The Écija City Council presents #AúnNoLoPillan, an unprecedented campaign that uses humour and provocation to tackle incivil behaviours such as not picking up dog waste or abandoning furniture on the street.

The Écija City Council has launched #AúnNoLoPillan, a social awareness campaign that breaks with the usual institutional language and opts for creativity, humour, and irony to curb incivil behaviours that affect cleanliness and coexistence in the city.

The initiative, conceived by the local agency Mente Social and in collaboration with Ecilimp, targets a minority that still acts as if public spaces do not belong to everyone. The name plays with the idea that there are basic behaviours that most people have already adopted, but that some still do not get.

The campaign revolves around four areas: not picking up animal waste, littering, leaving furniture and belongings outside designated areas, and improperly using public spaces as a bathroom. Each area has its own graphic pieces within a common visual identity.

The messages are brief and deliberately direct, designed to catch the eye and spark conversation. The goal is not to provoke for the sake of provoking, but to ensure that the message is seen, read, and remembered in an information-saturated environment.

The campaign will be rolled out through urban posters at various points in Écija, as well as in shops and establishments with posters and flyers. It will also have a presence on social media and WhatsApp with posts, stories, and audiovisual pieces, and will be adapted to radio formats and digital media.

As a novelty, the City Council has specifically contracted the removal of the posters once the campaign concludes, so that the action itself does not end up generating litter in the streets. This measure reinforces the coherence between the message and its execution: raising awareness also implies setting an example.

The campaign has its own website at mentesocial.es/aunnolopillan, where the creative materials are gathered and real figures about the cost of urban cleaning are provided. The site also includes useful information on how to deal with different types of waste and the consequences of certain behaviours.

With this proposal, the Écija City Council adds a new tool to its efforts for a cleaner city, appealing to the complicity of the majority of Ecijans who already care for their city and directing the message to those who still do not get it.
