The Sevillian municipality joins the initiative promoted by the Diputación to apply data to tourism management. Local businesses will have access to analysed information.

The City Council of Écija has formalised its incorporation into the Tourism Intelligence Platform of the province of Seville, a project driven by the Diputación through INPRO. The initiative aims to apply data analysis to the management and promotion of the destination, and the municipality of Écija thus becomes one of the first to join the network.

According to information provided by the Diputación, the platform is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and is funded by NextGenerationEU European funds. For Écija, the integration means enhancing future tourism projects that will feed into the platform and will be available to both the sector and the public.

Local businesses in the tourism sector will be the main beneficiaries. With the progressive incorporation of data, they will be able to better understand the existing offerings in the area, expand their own services, and increase their digital visibility. They will also have access to real, already analysed data, which will allow for the personalisation of tourism experiences.

The platform is part of the Network of Smart Tourist Destinations, in which Écija already participates. The intention is for the collected data to serve to improve decision-making for both administrations and local businesses.

The next step will be the gradual implementation of the platform and the incorporation of new local entities. The City Council of Écija encourages businesses in the municipality to stay alert for calls to join this initiative.
