The Town Hall of Tomares continues its open-air cinema cycle at the Patio de las Buganvillas. This Tuesday, August 4, at 22:00 hours, the Chinese film 'Ne Zha 2', a global animation phenomenon, will be screened for free.

The Patio de las Buganvillas in Tomares hosts a new session of the municipal summer cinema this Tuesday, August 4. The event, which will start at 22:00 hours, will feature 'Ne Zha 2', the Chinese animated film that has taken the world by storm with its box office records.

The screening is free entry until full capacity, and the Town Hall maintains a snack service with soft drinks, tapas, and popcorn to enhance the evening. This is the second edition of this initiative, which has been running since July 7, and in August, the schedule is brought forward by half an hour compared to the July sessions.

'Ne Zha 2', directed by Jiaozi, is the sequel to the 2019 film based on the character Nezha from a 16th-century Chinese novel. Released on January 29, 2025, coinciding with the Chinese New Year, it has grossed over $1.7 billion on a budget of just $80 million, making it the highest-grossing film in China and the highest-grossing animated film in a language other than English.

The summer cinema in Tomares thus revives a tradition that dates back to 'Cinema Tomares', which operated from 1964 to 2023. The historic Hacienda Santa Ana, where the Town Hall is located, is the chosen venue to keep that heritage alive every summer.

The August programme will continue on the following Tuesdays with 'Superman' (August 11), 'Mission Impossible: Final Sentence' (August 18), and 'Sketch' (August 25), always at 22:00 hours. Interested parties can find more information on the municipal website and the Town Hall's social media.
