The Patio de las Buganvillas hosts the free screening of 'Ne Zha 2' this Tuesday, August 4th, at 22:00. Free entry until full capacity.
The Town Hall of Tomares continues its summer cinema cycle at the Patio de las Buganvillas, an outdoor space located in the historic Hacienda Santa Ana. This Tuesday, August 4th, starting at 22:00, 'Ne Zha 2', the Chinese animated film that has captivated global audiences, will be screened.
The film, directed and written by Jiaozi, is the sequel to 'Ne Zha' (2019) and is based on the character Nezha, from a 16th-century Chinese novel of the Ming dynasty. It premiered on January 29, 2025, coinciding with the Chinese New Year, and has since grossed over $1.7 billion on a budget of just $80 million.
This success has made it the highest-grossing film in China and the highest-grossing animated film in a language other than English. The screening promises a night of legends, martial arts, and a grand visual spectacle, ideal for family enjoyment.
The summer cinema, which started on July 7th, takes place every Tuesday in August at 22:00, one hour earlier than in July. Entry is free until full capacity, and the venue offers concession services with soft drinks, tapas, and popcorn.
This initiative, now in its second year, aims to revive the tradition of the now-defunct 'Cinema Tomares', which operated in the municipality from 1964 to 2023. Through these screenings, the Town Hall aims to provide residents with cultural and leisure options during summer nights.
The August schedule includes 'Superman' on Tuesday the 11th, 'Mission Impossible: Final Sentence' on the 18th, and 'Sketch' on the 25th, all at 22:00. Interested parties can find more information on the municipal website and the Town Hall's social media.
