Mayor José María Soriano lit up the decorations last night, marking the start of five days of festivities at the Real, featuring over a dozen concerts and discounts on rides.
The Tomares Fair 2026 began last night with the traditional lighting ceremony, presided over by Mayor José María Soriano, alongside his Government Team and the music of the Tomares Symphony Band (BST). The event brought together a crowd of locals celebrating their reunion after summer at the traditional Cena del Pescaíto, served in the 18 booths at the Real, located between Finito de Triana and Ricardo Torres Bombita streets.
The opening night coincided with Children's Day, so the rides operated at a reduced price of 2.50 euros. In the Municipal Booth, the Orquesta Elegidos and local artist Joaquín Pavón, a former contestant on the television show 'Se llama Copla', performed a Spanish song gala.
“The Tomares Fair 2026 begins! Ahead are five days to enjoy in the best company and with all the programming we have prepared. Let’s live it with joy and responsibility!” said the mayor.
The musical programme includes over a dozen live concerts. Jaime Urrutia, former leader of Gabinete Caligari, will perform tonight (Thursday 3) at 00:30; Siempre Así will take the stage on Friday 4 at 23:00; and David Civera will perform on Saturday 5 at 23:30. Later that night, at 1:30, Peterpunk & The Diablo Band is scheduled to perform.
Completing the lineup are Agustele (Saturday at 22:00), the orchestras Sugar and Elegidos, and local artists Serva Labari (Thursday, 23:00), Belén de los Reyes (Friday, 22:30) and Ely Silva (Saturday, 15:30). On Friday 4, a public holiday in the municipality, a rice contest will be held with tastings afterwards between 12:00 and 14:30.
On Sunday 6, there will be a large children's gala at 13:00 with free pizza invitations at 14:00. Throughout the fair, the century-old Tombola of the Sacramental Brotherhood, the origin of this celebration, will distribute gifts daily.
Tomares has maintained its status as a pioneering fair in Spain since 2019 by being noise-free in the rides after 22:00, a measure aimed at raising awareness for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and those sensitive to loud sounds. This year, the venue will also feature bracelets for detecting drugs in drinks, in addition to the Purple Point established in 2022.
The security device includes 25 surveillance cameras and food controls, with the presence of Local Police, Guardia Civil, Civil Protection, Firefighters and health services available 24 hours a day. Attendees can enjoy the fair both day and night until Sunday 6.
