The Sevillian group Siempre Así gathered thousands of people at the Real de Tomares. The festive day on Friday included the rice contest with record participation and a performance by local singer Belén de los Reyes.
The Tomares Fair experienced its third major night of full attendance this Friday. Siempre Así packed the Municipal Tent, where thousands of locals and visitors sang along to songs like Te Estoy Queriendo Tanto, A Mi Manera, and Para Volver a Volver, which have become the soundtrack for several generations.
The day, which was festive in the municipality, kicked off with the XII Rice Contest, which brought together 28 participants, a record number. The winner was Francisco Javier Surinach, with his serranito de presa rice, followed by Gonzalo Viota Garrido (octopus and clam rice) and Carolina Cubero Couto (secret and boletus rice).
The prizes of 300, 200, and 100 euros were awarded at noon during a gala presided over by the mayor, José María Soriano, alongside councillors Magdalena Ybarra and María Toledo. During the same event, the tent Los Niñitos was recognised as the best decorated, with Puerta Príncipe and Los Sitos in second and third place.
In the afternoon, local singer Belén de los Reyes, winner of the Premio Naranjito de Triana 2025, gave a recital of cante jondo for her neighbours. The night continued with the Orquesta Sugar in the Municipal Tent and the traditional tombola of the Hermandad Sacramental, the origin of the fair, which once again gathered hundreds of people.
The fair continues over the weekend with more performances and activities for all ages at the Real de Tomares.
