The Palomares del Río Fair 2026 was inaugurated at midnight with the lighting ceremony. The oldest resident, Pilar Gordillo Caro, pressed the button that illuminated the venue.
The Palomares del Río fairgrounds were lit up at 00:00 hours this Friday, with the timely lighting marking the official start of the Palomares Fair 2026. The mayor, Manuel Benjumea, accompanied by the municipal government team, wanted to share the symbolic gesture with Pilar Gordillo Caro, the oldest resident of the municipality, who was responsible for pressing the button that lit up the fair.
The first night proceeded with a programme that unfolded smoothly. A marching band and a music group enlivened the promenade, and the group Al Son performed at the Municipal Booth to kick off what will be a week of celebrations.
The most anticipated part of the opening day was the announcement of the 2026 Booth Decoration Contest. The booth of Los Pollitos once again took the first prize, reaffirming the jury's recognition thanks to a creative proposal that had already stood out in previous editions.
With the lights on and the booths open, the Palomares del Río fair faces its upcoming days with the expectation of filling the venue with residents and visitors from the Aljarafe. The programme continues tonight with new performances and activities for all audiences.
