The Mairena del Aljarafe Town Hall has announced the implementation of a new comprehensive digital radio communications network for the Local Police. The initiative, with an investment of 226,000 euros over four years, aims to provide officers with a more secure and functional system.
The new network will use TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio), the most widely used standard in emergency services and critical communications. This technology improves the quality and privacy of communications, incorporates advanced call control, and allows connection with data systems.
The contract will last for four years, with an annual cost of 56,500 euros. The network will offer secure and robust communications and will allow for expanded functionalities in the future without replacing the entire system.
The Councillor for Security, Ángel Martín, stated that “we continue to modernise the Local Police so that our officers have better tools and can provide a better response to the public.”
This initiative is part of a broader process of modernising municipal services. It includes the renewal of the entire Local Police fleet through a contract for leasing nine vehicles over four years, with an investment of 665,000 euros, and the tendering of an intelligent traffic surveillance and mobility management system, with over 200,000 euros budgeted.
