The 'Wednesday Cinema' series continues in Gines with the screening of 'How to Train Your Dragon' on July 29 at 22:30 at Teniente Guillermo Antúnez Mellado park.
The Gines Town Council, through its Culture department, is running the summer program 'Wednesday Cinema', which this week brings the animated film 'How to Train Your Dragon' to Teniente Guillermo Antúnez Mellado park. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 29, starting at 22:30, with free admission for all audiences.
The film, produced by DreamWorks Animation, tells the adventures of young Viking Hiccup and his dragon Toothless as they fight to defend their village. It is one of the most popular recent animated films and will be screened in a Spanish dubbed version, suitable for families and children.
The series, which takes place during July, August, and early September, has been rotating through various green spaces in the municipality. This time, Teniente Guillermo Antúnez Mellado park will be the setting for an evening that promises to bring together locals and visitors in an outdoor atmosphere.
Organisers remind attendees that, for their comfort, they should bring their own chair or blanket, as there are no fixed seats available. The screening will begin at dusk, so arriving early is recommended to secure a good spot.
The 'Wednesday Cinema' program has established itself as one of the most anticipated cultural and leisure proposals of the summer in Gines. The initiative aims to bring cinema to all corners of the municipality, taking advantage of its parks and green areas as natural screening venues.
After this week's session, the series will continue on August 5 at El Cortijuelo park, where 'Mufasa. The Lion King' will be screened at 22:00. On August 12, the Concejala Dolores Camino Park will host 'Snow White', and on August 19, the same location will feature 'Lilo & Stitch', both also at 22:00.
The final stop of the summer will be Manolo Pérez Park, which will host two sessions: 'Elio' on August 26 at 21:30, and 'Bad Guys 2' on September 2 at the same time. All films are suitable for all audiences and are screened free of charge.
The Gines Town Council emphasises that these activities promote community coexistence and offer a cultural leisure alternative during summer nights. Admission is free until the venue reaches capacity, which is outdoors in all cases.
