Mayor Antonio Enamorado and councillor Reme Gómez meet with the territorial delegate for Education in Seville to discuss the implementation of a new vocational training cycle, specialist staff, and works in the schools.
The Town Hall of Lora del Río has communicated the main educational demands of the municipality to the Territorial Delegation of Education in Seville. This was done in a working meeting held on Friday, September 18 between the mayor, Antonio Enamorado, the councillor-delegate for Education, Reme Gómez Martín, and the territorial delegate, Gloria Guillén Rodríguez.
One of the central issues was the possible implementation of a new Vocational Training cycle in Lora del Río. The aim is to expand the educational offerings for local youth and prevent them from having to travel to other municipalities to pursue these studies.
Regarding personnel, the council highlighted the need to strengthen support for students with specific support needs. According to the Town Hall, there is a shortage of specialists in local schools to adequately support these students.
The meeting also served to review various improvement actions in the schools. Two specific cases focused part of the meeting: the situation of the lift at CEIP San José de Calasanz and the pending perimeter closure at CEIP Virgen de Setefilla.
In both cases, the parties explored possible ways to address these demands. The lift at San José de Calasanz is a necessary infrastructure to ensure accessibility at the centre, while the perimeter closure at Virgen de Setefilla is in response to safety criteria.
The meeting is part of a series of contacts between the Town Hall and the Territorial Delegation to coordinate investments and educational needs in the municipality. No deadlines or financial commitments have been established following this initial contact.
