The Town Hall of La Rinconada has opened the enrollment period for the Carnival School, which will run from October 2 to February 12. Applications can be submitted until September 18.

The Town Hall of La Rinconada has opened the enrollment period for a new edition of the Carnival School, an activity aimed at children registered in the municipality from 3rd year of preschool (5 years) to 2nd year of secondary school. Applications can be submitted until September 18.

The initiative, which will take place between October 2 and February 12, will culminate in a performance by the participants. This year, as a main novelty, classes will be held weekly to strengthen the rehearsals of the groups, as reported by the delegate for Major Festivals, Rafael Reyes.

The enrollment application, included in the information brochure, must be submitted completed and signed through the General Registry of the Town Hall, at the Electronic Headquarters (www.larinconada.es), or in person at the municipal offices at Plaza de España 6 or at the Deputy Mayor's Office of San José, located at Plaza Juan Ramón Jiménez 8. The service hours are from 9:00 to 14:00 hours.

After collecting all applications, the list of admitted students will be posted at the Civic Centre Los Silos on September 22. The cost of the activity is 30 euros per student, and payment will be made on a date that will be indicated along with the provisional list, as well as the date of the informational meeting for parents.

Before the final groups are formed, the School will hold four preliminary meetings with workshops such as 'Coplas de nuestro Carnaval', taught by Noelia Mejorada and Raúl Membrives; the hat workshop, with Jennifer Garcés and Ángela Herrero; the Tiburón Bolo workshop, with Rocío Muñoz and María José Serrano; and the rhymes workshop, with Gracia María Fernández and Jorge de la Rosa.

Subsequently, rehearsals will be held, the competition of groups at Antonio Gala, and the carnival on the street, in the tent at Plaza Rodríguez Montes and at El Palenque del Recinto Multifuncional 'El Abrazo'.

“The Carnival School is a fully established activity, eagerly awaited by the little ones and that progresses each year, as a result of the interaction with the Carnival Association and the Carnival Table, to be a reference in the locality and ensure the survival of the festival, training the future carnival performers and instilling in them the passion for the coplas,” stated Rafael Reyes.

The activity is organized by the Town Hall in collaboration with the Carnival Table and the Los Fugaos de la Alemania Oriental Carnival Association, with whom the delegate recently met to finalize the details of this edition.
