The Cleaning delegation of Utrera City Council has deployed a special operation for the Feria de Consolación 2026, with new bins, 40 bins, and additional staff. The schedules for waste and glass disposal have already been set.
The Utrera City Council has launched a special cleaning and waste collection operation for the Feria and Festivals of Our Lady of Consolation 2026. The operation, which began preparations weeks in advance, includes the addition of new bins and around 40 bins distributed throughout the fairgrounds and its surroundings.
The Street Cleaning and Waste Collection delegation has reinforced both human and material resources to cater to the days of highest attendance. In addition to bins for selective collection and glass, new rear-loading bins have been installed at strategic points within the fairgrounds.
The operation also includes an increase in personnel and vehicles throughout the celebration, with extraordinary street cleaning services, washing of the venue and its surroundings, and support tasks to remove food items that may be confiscated during the fair.
Before the start of the fair, the City Council has carried out information and awareness actions aimed at the managers of the booths. The aim is to facilitate proper waste management and coordinate disposal schedules with municipal collection services.
As explained by the delegate for Street Cleaning and Waste Collection, Félix Gómez, "the collaboration of the booth operators and establishments in the area is essential for the services to carry out the various routes in an orderly manner and ensure adequate cleaning conditions throughout the celebration."
During the fair, rubbish bags must be placed closed at the edge of the roadway between 7:00 and 9:00 hours and between 19:30 and 21:30 hours. For glass, the established collection time will be from 6:00 to 10:00 hours.
The cleaning teams will work from early morning to ensure that by 12:00 hours the fairgrounds are clean and ready for each day. Once the horse parade is over, municipal services coordinate with the Security Forces to clean the streets and allow activities to continue normally.
The extraordinary operation does not interrupt the usual services in the rest of Utrera. During the fair days, the ordinary cleaning of the city is maintained, and the Clean Point will remain open and operational.
Gómez has thanked the work of the professionals involved and has reminded that "behind this operation there is significant planning work and the daily effort of numerous professionals to ensure that each day the venue is back in the best condition."
The City Council calls for citizen collaboration: keeping the fair clean is a shared responsibility. Small gestures such as using bins and containers, properly separating waste, and respecting disposal schedules contribute to the smooth functioning of the operation.
