Between Tuesday, July 21, and Saturday, July 25, five concerts will fill the venue with sounds, featuring proposals ranging from flamenco-jazz to Hispano-French connections.
Pájaro Guitar Duo opens the week with 'Las Criaturas'
On Tuesday, July 21, the duo formed by Andrés Herrera 'El Pájaro' and Raúl Fernández will present 'Las Criaturas', a concert for two guitars and voice. The repertoire includes original compositions and covers of songs that have marked their journey, influenced by rock, surf, Italian swing, and root music. According to the City Council of Seville, the duo has collaborated with artists such as Pata Negra, Raimundo Amador, or Silvio, and their project 'Pájaro' was born in 2012 as a commitment to creative freedom.
Seville saxophonist Alicia Camiña and her 'Jazmín de mi patio'
On Wednesday 22, saxophonist and composer Alicia Camiña, trained at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Sevilla and Berklee College of Music, presents 'El jazmín de mi patio'. Accompanied by pianist Julia Dueñas Barragán and drummer José Gómez, she offers a concert where jazz dialogues with flamenco from a personal perspective. Her previous album 'Somewhere in My Dreams' was a Grammy nominee, consolidating a career that spans between Spain and the United States.
Saxophone and piano duo to explore Hispano-French ties
On Thursday 23, saxophonist Luís González Garrido and pianist Orlando Bass perform 'Génesis', a recital that explores the musical ties between Spain and France. The programme includes works by Albéniz, Debussy, Poulenc, Falla, Fabien Waksman, and Fernande Decruck, traversing the musical currents of the 20th and 21st centuries. The duo, formed in 2022, has performed at festivals in France and Italy, offering a contemporary perspective on a repertoire of great expressive richness.
Alxaraf recovers the legacy of Al-Ándalus
On Friday 24, the trio Alxaraf presents 'La cuerda de tres hilos', a concert that traverses the musical legacy of the cultures that coexisted in Al-Ándalus. With Vicente Gelo on vocals, Tino van der Sman on flamenco guitar, and David Chupete on percussion, the group was formed in 2022 with the aim of recovering Sephardic, Arab, and flamenco heritage. Following the release of their album 'Éxodos', Alxaraf has developed a notable international trajectory, advocating for music as a meeting space between cultures.
Soprano and harp close the week with 'Nuit d'étoiles'
On Saturday 25, soprano Natalia Labourdette and harpist José Antonio Domené perform 'Nuit d'étoiles', a recital dedicated to the dialogue between Spanish folk song and French chanson. The programme brings together works by Ravel, Falla, Fauré, Debussy, and Reynaldo Hahn, evoking the artistic atmosphere of Paris in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Since 2020, both performers have developed a project dedicated to recovering works for this formation, presented at festivals across Spain.
All concerts begin at 10:30 PM in the Gardens of the Real Alcázar. Tickets, priced at 10 euros, can be purchased at the Alcázar box office or on the official website. The cycle continues until September 19, with new proposals each week.
