The Town Hall of Morón de la Frontera expands its video surveillance network with five new devices, four of which have number plate recognition, which have been operational since the beginning of summer. The investment amounts to €16,634.44 and raises the number of cameras in public spaces to 28.
The municipality of Morón de la Frontera has had five additional video surveillance cameras installed at strategic points since this summer. The measure, promoted by the Town Hall, expands the existing network to 28 cameras in public spaces, five more than before the action.
The total investment has been €16,634.44 and the contract was awarded to the local company INFOTELEC. The project is part of the Más Sevilla Programme of the Diputación de Sevilla, within the line aimed at technological improvement and strengthening urban video surveillance.
The new devices are distributed across four locations. In the Parque de Canillas, a conventional video surveillance camera has been installed. The Rotonda del Calero and the Rotonda de Pruna each have a unit equipped with a number plate recognition system. The Rotonda de Montellano has two cameras with the same technology, bringing the total to four automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) devices.
These ANPR-equipped devices register the passage of vehicles at the access points and roads where they are located. According to the Delegation of Security, they have already proven useful in police matters, allowing for the location of vehicles based on the points they entered or exited the city.

The five cameras are connected to the Municipal Police and have recording systems, which allows for information about the monitored areas and better coordination of citizen security services.
The service of the new devices is guaranteed for a minimum of one year at no additional cost to the Town Hall. The action is part of the investments planned for Morón in the Más Sevilla Plan, which includes technological improvements and the strengthening of the urban video surveillance system in the municipality.
