The Sevillian town of Estepa has kicked off its 2026 Fair with the traditional lighting ceremony, an event that attracts more attendees each year. The gathering, held at the entrance of the fairgrounds, featured locals dancing sevillanas to the rhythm of local academies.
The mayor of Estepa, Antonio Jesús Muñoz, and the Councillor for Festivities were responsible for the countdown and pressing the button that lit up the fair. They were joined by the Queen and King from the previous edition, Ángela and Víctor, who also participated in cutting the ribbon that officially opens the venue. The Municipal Corporation accompanied the event, which has become a tradition in the town.
During the event, the Estepa City Council wanted to acknowledge the work of the two dance academies that collaborated in the festivities: Academia María José and Academia de Flamenco El Boti. Both received a small gift in appreciation for their participation.
The final touch was provided by Lucía Benavides, who performed a flamenco dance after leading attendees in sevillanas on the street.
The Estepa 2026 Fair is now officially inaugurated and will remain open for the enjoyment of locals and visitors over the coming days.
