The Estepa City Council held an extraordinary session on August 20, where it approved the Economic-Financial Plan 2026-2027 and greenlit the multipurpose building project on Mirasierra Street.

The Extraordinary Plenary of the Estepa City Council held on August 20, 2026 at 18:00 hours approved by majority the Economic-Financial Plan for the 2026-2027 period, with votes in favour from PSOE and IXE and an abstention from PP.

The proposal from the Mayor received 12 votes in favour and 4 abstentions, with no votes against. With this support, the council will be able to implement the measures for financial recovery and budgetary stability planned for the upcoming biennium.

In the same session, the Basic Project for the Multipurpose Building was unanimously approved, with the 16 votes from the three municipal groups, drafted by municipal architect Miguel José Blanco Fernández.

The building will be constructed on the municipal property parcels located at Mirasierra Street 38 and 36, and on the private parcel number 34 of the same street. The urban development actions contemplated in this project were declared of Public Utility and Social Interest, also unanimously, in accordance with article 17.2 of the Law of Forced Expropriation.

The declaration of public utility will facilitate the occupation of the necessary land and expedite the procedures for the commencement of works. The new multipurpose building will provide the locality with a municipal space intended for multiple uses, yet to be detailed.

The next step will be the tendering of the works and the processing of the corresponding permits, according to municipal sources.
