The Thompson Sevilla hotel, with 101 rooms and a culinary proposal from Grupo Manolo Mayo, will open its doors in late 2026 in Plaza de la Concordia, in the La Gavidia building.

The capital of Seville will add a new luxury hotel in late 2026. Thompson Sevilla will open in the iconic La Gavidia building, in Plaza de la Concordia, right in the historic centre. This will be the brand's first venture in Andalusia and the second in Spain, following Thompson Madrid.

A Hotel with Views and a Rooftop Pool

The establishment will feature 101 rooms and suites, many of which will have city views or private terraces. The Thompson Suite, the most exclusive, will have its own terrace and panoramic views. The interiors, designed by architect Pablo Baruc, will combine warm materials, natural textures, and handcrafted finishes with references to Andalusian identity.

On the rooftop, guests will find an outdoor pool, a lounge area, and a bar with a light menu. The gym, also on the upper floor, will offer views of the city. On the ground floor, the hotel will have 240 square meters of event spaces, with four modular rooms, audiovisual equipment, and an interior courtyard.

Grupo Manolo Mayo Leads the Culinary Offer

Culinary offerings will be one of the pillars of Thompson Sevilla. The hotel has reached an agreement with Grupo Manolo Mayo, which will move its restaurant Mayo Sevilla inside the hotel under the name Casa Mayo. The new space will maintain the spirit of a classic gastronomic house, featuring local and seasonal products.

“Joining Thompson Sevilla marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us. Casa Mayo will continue the traditions, flavours, and hospitality that have defined our restaurants for years,” says Miguel Ángel Álvarez, head of Grupo Manolo Mayo.

Additionally, the hotel will feature a Lobby Bar open all day, with a daily ‘Sherry Hour’ around 6:00 PM to taste sherry wines and small bites. The Rooftop Pool Deck & Bar will offer cocktails at sunset with Andalusian influences.

The Arrival of Thompson in Andalusia

The president and creative director of The Lifestyle Group, Hyatt, Amar Lalvani, has highlighted that Seville naturally fits the brand: “Seville is one of those cities that leaves a mark. It has an extraordinary combination of history, culture, creativity, and energy, precisely the type of destination where Thompson fits naturally.”

The opening of Thompson Sevilla will provide a boost to luxury tourism in the city, which has seen an increase in five-star hotel offerings in recent years. Locals and visitors will also be able to enjoy the hotel's culinary and leisure offerings, as the Lobby Bar and rooftop will be open to the public.

Construction is progressing according to schedule, and the expectation is that the doors will open in late 2026. Meanwhile, those interested can follow the project's evolution through the official channels of Thompson Hotels.
