The Short Film Contest of the Province of Seville opens its tenth edition with a deadline until November 9

The Town Hall of Lebrija, through the areas of Culture and Youth, informs that the deadline for submitting works to the Short Film Contest of the Province of Seville ends on November 9, 2026.

The Short Film Contest of the Province of Seville, now in its tenth edition, has opened its call for audiovisual works until the upcoming November 9, 2026. The initiative, promoted by Prodetur, the provincial development society, aims to promote the territory through cinema, focusing on the landscapes, heritage, and traditions of Seville.

The contest, which began in 2017, has received to date 558 short films from all over Spain, according to data provided by the Town Hall of Lebrija. In this tenth edition, participants must be of legal age and reside in Spain, and the works must be filmed in locations within the province of Seville.

A professional jury for six awards

The jury will consist of professionals from the audiovisual sector, who will evaluate criteria such as the richness and uniqueness of the locations, their geographical variety, the theme, originality, visual value, and artistic representation. Six awards will be established, although the monetary amounts have not been detailed in the call.

In the presentation of this edition, Rodrigo Rodríguez Hans, vice president of Prodetur, participated along with representatives from entities such as ASECAN, ANCINE, AAMMA, the Academy of Cinema of Andalusia, and the Andalusia Film Commission. Rodríguez Hans highlighted that “we want those who are starting to make films to find in the province of Seville a place to create and grow.”

Film as a tourist showcase

The contest not only seeks to foster young talent but also promote the province as a tourist destination. Each short film, according to the organizers, showcases a town, a landscape, or a tradition that can spark the interest of viewers. “That is the value of this project, and that is why we continue to invest in it ten editions later,” emphasized Rodríguez Hans.

For the residents of Lebrija and the rest of the province, this call represents an opportunity to and for local talent to be projected nationally. The complete rules are available on the Prodetur website, and the deadline closes on November 9.
