The province of Seville receives the largest reinforcement of personnel in the last three years, with 136 officers incorporated between June and July. The deputy delegate of the Government highlights that the workforce has grown by 11.7% since 2018.
The National Police has incorporated 136 new officers in the province of Seville during the months of June and July, marking the largest reinforcement of personnel in the last three years. The latest batch, consisting of 80 officers, arrived this week and joins the 56 allocated at the end of June through the general merit competition.
The deputy delegate of the Government in Seville, Francisco Toscano, welcomed the new personnel at an event held at the Superior Headquarters of Western Andalusia, accompanied by the acting provincial commissioner, José Carlos Castillo Fernández. In this latest addition, 59 police officers, 18 officials, and 3 sub-inspectors have arrived. On June 26, another 31 police officers, 12 officials, and 13 sub-inspectors joined.
The majority of the new officers will integrate into the Citizen Security units, although they will also reinforce other services of the force. With these additions, the Government aims to consolidate the downward trend in crime recorded in the province over the past few months and enhance security throughout the Seville territory.
Toscano reminded that between 2012 and 2018, the State Security Forces and Corps suffered a reduction in personnel, but that situation has reversed in recent years through an increase in staffing levels. The deputy delegate highlighted that this effort is reflected in the evolution of crime: data from the first quarter of the year shows a 1% decrease in crimes in the province compared to the same period in 2025.
The reinforcement of the National Police complements that of the Civil Guard, which last June incorporated 159 trainee guards in the province of Seville, the highest figure recorded in the recent history of the Seville command. The deputy delegate reiterated the Government's commitment to strengthening human, material, and technological resources for both the National Police and the Civil Guard to continue improving crime prevention and response capacity.
Since 2018, the workforce of the National Police in Seville has grown by 11.7%, according to data provided by the Government. This increase is part of a national strategy to strengthen citizen security and recover personnel lost during the economic crisis.
