María Dolores González Delgado and Manuel García García have won the top prizes in the XXVII Photography Contest on Agriculture and Livestock and the V Photography Rally of the Sevilla-Los Palacios Half Marathon, respectively.

The Town Hall of Los Palacios and Villafranca has awarded the prizes of the XXVII Photography Contest on Agriculture and Livestock and the V Photography Rally dedicated to the 46th Sevilla-Los Palacios Half Marathon. The event, held at the Casa de la Cultura, was presided over by the Culture delegate, Manuel Carvajal, and the delegate for Training and Employment, María Luisa Amuedo.

Manuel Carvajal congratulated all participants for their involvement and for contributing, through photography, to spreading the agricultural and livestock heritage of the municipality, as well as the atmosphere and sporting spirit of the Half Marathon. He thanked them for their effort in capturing images that reflect essential aspects of local identity.

Awards for the Agriculture and Livestock Contest

In the agricultural photography contest, María Dolores González Delgado won the first prize, worth 300 euros, for her work The Pulse of Irrigation. The image was taken during a night outing to the municipality's aqueduct, using the force of water to achieve a silk effect through long exposure. The author highlighted that she aimed to showcase the importance of water and irrigation infrastructure for local agriculture.

The second prize, worth 200 euros, went to Juan Manuel Moncayo González for Rice Planting, a daily scene of planting with the agricultural plane as the protagonist. The third prize, worth 100 euros, was awarded to Manuel García García for Where Life Drinks, which shows the generational change in a greenhouse. Additionally, two special mentions of 50 euros were given to Juan Antonio Hernández López-Caylán (Colourful Stalks) and José Manuel Mayorga Fabián (Cultivating Stories).

Half Marathon Photography Rally

In the V Photography Rally, Manuel García García won the first prize of 500 euros for The Art of Speed, which will be the official image of the 47th Sevilla-Los Palacios Half Marathon. The winner explained that he sought an unconventional composition that reflected the dynamism of the event. The second prize, worth 200 euros, went to Antonio Manuel López Silvestre for The Zero Hour, and the third prize, worth 100 euros, to Antonio García Reina for Relief Kilometer, which captures the moment a runner refreshes themselves in the final kilometres.

All awardees received a trophy crafted by the artisan workshop Pieza Únika. The awarded works can be seen at the Casa de la Cultura until October. The exhibition showcases, on one hand, the richness of the agricultural and livestock heritage of Los Palacios and Villafranca and, on the other, the excitement of the Half Marathon.
