Mairena del Alcor Town Hall has begun the comprehensive renovation works of Manuel Mateo Figueroa square, on Calatrava street, with an investment of €150,000 and a timeframe of seven months.
The renovation works of Manuel Mateo Figueroa square, located on Calatrava street in Mairena del Alcor, are already underway. The project will involve a complete renewal of the space and is expected to last for about seven months, according to municipal forecasts.
The town's mayor, Juanma López, has presented the project, which aims to turn the square into a meeting point for all ages. The intervention will include new children's play areas and zones with health-oriented elements aimed at older adults.
"The main objective is to transform the urban space into an intergenerational meeting point. The renovation includes the installation of new children's play areas for the little ones, as well as zones with health-oriented elements designed for older adults," the mayor stated.
The planned investment is around €150,000 and is jointly funded by the Mairena del Alcor Town Hall and the Seville Provincial Council, through the Seville 107 Plan.
With this work, local residents will see an improvement in a public space that has so far been in poor condition. The square is located in the vicinity of Calatrava street, a central road in the town.
The municipal schedule sets the execution time at seven months, so if deadlines are met, the works could be completed throughout 2027. Until then, the Town Hall has not detailed whether access restrictions will be established during the works.
