The XLVI Joaquín el de la Paula Flamenco Festival returns to Alcalá de Guadaíra Castle after 16 years with a lineup headed by local dancer Javier Barón, who is being honoured. Tickets are already on sale for €12.
The Alcalá de Guadaíra Castle will once again host the XLVI Joaquín el de la Paula Flamenco Festival, returning to this venue 16 years later with a lineup of top figures. The event once again makes the town a meeting point for Andalusian flamenco.
The delegate for Identity and head of Culture, Heritage and Tourism, Christopher Rivas, has presented the programme. He explained that this year the festival pays tribute to local dancer Javier Barón, who returns to the festival in his homeland.

Rivas described Barón as “an essential figure in contemporary flamenco dance, with an artistic career of enormous prestige both inside and outside of Andalusia.” The delegate added that recognising him also means valuing those who have dedicated their lives to enhancing this art through effort, talent, and authenticity.
Alongside Javier Barón, David Palomar, Lela Soto, and Ezequiel Benítez will perform, while Rubén Martínez, Paco León, and Rubén Lara will handle the guitar. The lineup thus brings together established names in contemporary flamenco.
The municipal official noted that with this event, “Alcalá is a reference for Andalusian flamenco” and insisted on keeping alive a tradition that is part of the identity and history of the city.
Tickets are available on the Alcalá de Guadaíra City Council's ticketing website for a price of €12. The festival takes place in the castle grounds, a heritage space that thus revives a long-standing flamenco event in the town.
