The Alcalá de Guadaíra City Council is tendering works for €987,793 to renew paths, plant vegetation, and equip the parks along the Guadaíra river. Companies can submit bids until September 18.
The Alcalá de Guadaíra City Council has given the green light to the contracting of a project to improve the parks along the Guadaíra river, with a base budget of €987,793.33 (excluding VAT). The initiative comes from the Delegation of Natural Monuments, Environment and Sustainability, led by Luisa Campos.
The actions include the reconstruction of paths, supply of plants, installation of irrigation, and equipping with benches, bins, tables, and barriers. The works have been divided into seven areas, each with its own particularities and specific needs.
Campos has defended the investment because the banks of the river as it passes through Alcalá are “a unique environmental asset of special relevance within the metropolitan area,” recognized with the declaration of Natural Monument of Andalucía.
The delegate has insisted that these parks have become “the green area of reference for the city,” a very busy space that “is visited and walked by hundreds of citizens daily.” Therefore, she added, “the improvement of existing infrastructures as well as the provision of new ones is necessary.”
The first section runs between the right bank of the river and the Colada del Camino de Zacatín, coinciding with the route of the Via Augusta. Along this route are the Molino del Realaje and the Molino de Pelay Correa, with the Hacienda de la Piñera at an intermediate point.
The second section is located on the left bank, between the Dragon Bridge and the Molino del Realaje, where the judía fountain and the molino de Vadalejos Bajo are found. The third affects two tree-lined alignments on both sides of the A-8033 road, which connects the A-392 with Alcalá and the A-92.
The fourth section goes from the Nazareno Bridge to the Dragon Bridge along the left bank. The fifth encompasses two forested and urban areas, unrelated to the river but structuring the green space, with a total area of 0.83 hectares.
The sixth section, very integrated into civic life due to its proximity to the municipal sports centre and the fairgrounds, extends from the Molino de las Aceñas to the Jesus Nazareno Bridge. The last area combines traditional pine forest with meso-Mediterranean and riverside areas, where the hermitage of San Roque is located, surrounded by the pines of Oromana.
The execution period for the works will be 5 months from the start of the works. Interested companies can submit their bids until September 18 at 23:59, through the contractor profile on the municipal website.
