The Sevillian town of La Algaba has presented the poster for its Fair and Popular Festivals, which will take place from September 16 to 20. The programme includes three bullfighting events, a release of calves, and new features such as a light and fireworks show.

La Algaba already has a poster for its Fair and Popular Festivals of 2026. The work, by local painter Rocío Tejado, was presented at the municipal auditorium-bullring, a space that will once again be the epicentre of the bullfighting festivities. The event also served to designate this year's announcers: the group of friends and members of the booth ‘Los del Mediodía’.

The mayor of La Algaba, Diego Manuel Agüera Piñero, highlighted during the presentation the pride of the municipality in having a poster artist and announcers who are “from La Algaba and great connoisseurs of the traditions of La Algaba.” The mayor also announced that this year’s fair comes with new features designed for family enjoyment.

The programme kicks off with the announcement on Tuesday, September 15 and the lighting of the decorations on Wednesday, September 16, a day that will feature, as a first, a light, music, and fireworks show right after the lighting. The fair days will extend until Sunday, September 20.

The programming also includes Alcohol-Free Youth Festivals, with DJs and free tastings of non-alcoholic cocktails, as well as the municipal square, which will host musical events and performances for all audiences. There will be parades, children's bull runs, and fire bulls, activities that, in the mayor's words, are “designed for enjoying fair days with family.”

In the bullfighting section, the bullring will host its forty-sixth edition with three events: two promotional novice bullfights and a bullfighting festival. After each event, the traditional popular capeas will be held in the unique bullring of La Algaba.

On Saturday, September 12, novice bulls from the Hermanos Expósito González ranch will be fought by novice bullfighters Blas Márquez (Albacete), César Bermejo (Sevilla), Paco de Sara (Carmona), and Ruiz de Palazón (Jaén). On Sunday, September 13, it will be the turn of the bulls from Lora Sangrán for Pedro de la Hermosa (Guadalajara), Cristóbal de Lara (Huelva), Marco Peláez (Mexico), and Cayetano Romo (Camas).

On Sunday, September 20, a Bullfighting Festival will be held with bulls from D. Agustín Lunar for Uceda Vargas (Gerena), Manuel Jesús Carrión, and Javier Illanguas (both from La Algaba), and Jairo López (Mexico). In total, there will be twelve participants in this year's cycle.

The novice bullfights on the 12th and 13th will start at 18:00 hours, while the festival on the 20th will begin at 17:30 hours. Additionally, on the morning of Saturday 19 and Sunday 20, fans will have the chance to try their luck in the traditional release of cows through the streets of the Santa Marta neighbourhood.

Subscriptions for the bullfighting events will go on sale from September 3, while individual tickets will be available from September 8 and on the days of the events at the bullring box office.
