The Alcalá de Guadaíra Town Hall has restored the damage caused by vandalism at Oromana Park and the Sustainable Tourism Centre in just a few days. Trees, fences, and barriers have been replaced.
The Alcalá de Guadaíra Town Hall has managed to replace the damaged elements from the vandalism incidents that occurred last Sunday at Oromana Park and the Sustainable Tourism Centre in record time. The action, coordinated by the Natural Monument, Environment and Sustainability delegation, has allowed these spaces to return to their usual state in just a few days.
The damage included uprooted trees, destroyed fences and barriers along the park path, as well as numerous pieces of litter and dirt scattered around the area. As soon as the events were known, the Local Police were notified on the same Sunday, and immediate cleaning of the area was carried out, removing waste and fallen specimens.
The Environment delegate, Luisa Campos, explained that “during these days, the necessary work has been carried out to repair the material damage, with the fences and barriers that had been destroyed being replaced.” The councillor highlighted the speed of the municipal response and the coordination of the brigades to minimise the impact on the heritage of all residents.
The Town Hall is making a call for civic responsibility, reminding everyone that the Natural Monument of the Guadaíra Riverbanks and the surroundings of the Sustainable Tourism Centre are collective heritage. “Caring for our parks and public spaces is everyone's responsibility. The quick action of municipal services has allowed us to recover the environment in just a few days, but the most important thing is that together we prevent these incidents from happening again,” Campos stated.
The Town Hall also requests citizen collaboration to report any uncivic behaviour that may endanger public furniture or heritage. Residents can report these situations through the usual channels of the Town Hall, which guarantees a swift response to new episodes of vandalism.
