The Local Government Board of Alcalá de Guadaíra has greenlit the call for the City of Alcalá Academic Merit Awards for the 2026-2027 academic year, endowed with 80,900 euros and 161 individual awards. The application period will open at the end of September.

The Local Government Board of Alcalá de Guadaíra has approved the call for the City of Alcalá Academic Merit Awards for the 2026-2027 academic year. The municipal allocation amounts to 80,900 euros and will allow for a total of 161 individual awards.

The deadline for submitting applications will open at the end of September, as reported by the Alcalá City Council. The awards are aimed at students registered in the city throughout the previous academic year who have completed studies that grant access to Higher Vocational Training or University Degree.

The mayor, Ana Isabel Jiménez, has emphasised the origin of this initiative in the 2017-2018 academic year, when her government launched it to encourage higher education.

"These awards are a demonstration of the municipal commitment to quality education based on equal opportunities, working towards the model of society we want, promoting positive and responsible social values"
