The Municipal School Council of Lebrija has ratified by majority the days of free disposition and non-school days for the 2026/2027 calendar. The proposal will be sent to the Territorial Delegation of Educational Development in Seville for final approval.
The Municipal School Council of Lebrija held its first ordinary session of the 2026/2027 academic year on Tuesday, September 22. The meeting was chaired by the vice president of the body and delegate for Childhood, Education and Training of the City Council, Paula García Gutiérrez.
The agenda addressed the proposals received to set the days of free disposition and non-school days for the school calendar. The proposal was ratified with the majority vote of the educational centres and will now be sent to the Territorial Delegation of Educational Development and Vocational Training of Seville from the Andalusian Junta, which must approve it in the coming days.
The agreed free disposition days are April 30, 2027 and May 3, 2027. These are in addition to the non-school days already included in the current academic year's calendar: October 30, 2026 and February 25, 2027, the latter only for secondary education institutes, the Official School of Languages, and the Adult Centre.
The Municipal School Council is made up of representatives from the Educational Administration, students, parents' associations, and teachers' unions. Other matters related to the start of the academic year and of general interest to the educational community were also discussed during the session.
The ratification by the Territorial Delegation is the final step for these days to be officially set. Until then, the educational centres in Lebrija will maintain the provisional calendar, awaiting confirmation that will allow families and teachers to organise their activities in advance.
