The Parish of Our Lady of the Olive will host seven concerts from 11 October 2026 to 25 April 2027, with performers such as José Valencia, Juan de la Rubia, and Abraham Cupeiro.
The third edition of the Lebrija Organ Concert Cycle now has a programme. The Delegation of Culture, Heritage and Tourism presented this morning a schedule that will run from October 2026 to April 2027 and will include seven performances at the Parish of Our Lady of the Olive.
The Culture delegate, Pepe Martínez, and the artistic director of the cycle, Abraham Martínez, have revealed the details of a proposal that combines ancient music, flamenco, improvisation, and historical instruments. The baroque organ of the temple, built in 1728 by the organ builder Diego de Orio, will be the central focus of all performances.
The programme will kick off on 11 October with baritone Víctor Cruz and organist Silvio Salado. Cruz will also perform plucked string instruments such as the baroque guitar, vihuela, and lute.
On 15 November, it will be the turn of the Sevillian countertenor Gabriel Díaz, accompanied by Portuguese organist and harpsichordist Miguel Jaloto. Díaz has an international career focused on historical repertoire.
On 13 December, mezzo-soprano María Ogueta will perform alongside Yudania Gómez, an organist and choir and orchestra director of Cuban origin who is part of the musical team for Rosalía's 2026 tour. The repertoire will span various eras, prominently featuring ancient music.
In 2027, on 24 January, singer José Valencia and Abraham Martínez on the organ will premiere a newly created programme that fuses flamenco and classical music, linked to the musical roots of Lebrija.
On 14 February, one of the most unique proposals will arrive: multi-instrumentalist and instrument maker Abraham Cupeiro, who will share the stage with Abraham Martínez. Cupeiro is known for reviving instruments from different eras and cultures, with a collection of over 200 pieces.
On 7 March, it will be the turn of Belgian organist and composer Jean-Luc Lepage, holder of the grand organs of the Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame de Dinant. His performance will be based on improvisation, featuring nine improvisations on the Beatitudes.
The cycle will conclude on 25 April with organist Juan de la Rubia, titular of the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona and one of the Spanish figures with the greatest international projection in organ performance.
"The programme of this third edition aims to combine the rigor of historical interpretation with proposals that expand the possibilities of the organ and bring this instrument closer to new audiences," explained the cycle director, Abraham Martínez.
