The mayor, Javier Fernández, announces that the Town Hall will deliver 100 already built homes in La Unión, has 68 under construction and is preparing to raffle 160 more in Pago de Enmedio. The mayor confirms he will run for re-election in 2027.
The La Rinconada Town Hall will hold the raffle for 160 official protection homes in the area of Pago de Enmedio on October 13. This has been confirmed by the mayor, Javier Fernández, who detailed that these properties will have two or three bedrooms, a garage, and a storage room, and will be offered at prices ranging from €107,000 to €115,000.
This measure is part of the public housing policy that the Town Hall has been developing for years. According to Fernández, 100 homes have already been delivered in the neighbourhood of La Unión at a price not exceeding €115,000, and currently, another 68 are under construction that have already been allocated.
The mayor has emphasized that housing is one of the main concerns of the residents and that the Town Hall has land to continue promoting public developments. In this regard, he has thanked the support of the Seville Provincial Council, which will finance almost €50,000 in non-repayable funds for each of these homes, and has called for greater involvement from the Andalusian Government, the competent administration in this matter.
“If we had more help from those who have the competence in housing matters, like the Andalusian Government, it would be much better,” Fernández stated.
The mayor also reviewed other projects planned for the coming years, partly funded by European funds. In total, the municipality has secured almost €15 million for public infrastructure, including a second indoor swimming pool, the City of the Racket next to the La Unión pavilion, the conversion of the Torre del Cáñamo into a space for performing arts and rehearsals, a new Alzheimer’s centre, and the incorporation of electric minibuses to improve public transport.
Politically, Fernández announced that he will run again as the PSOE candidate for mayor in the 2027 municipal elections, after 20 years at the helm of the Town Hall. The mayor justified his decision by the enthusiasm and pending projects.
Regarding the development of the logistics park in Majaravique, the mayor praised the unblocking by the Andalusian Government, although he did not specify timelines. Fernández recalled that this project was already included in the 2007 General Urban Planning Plan and that its implementation will provide an economic boost and job creation for the area.
