IES Rodríguez Marín and Sierra Sur start this Tuesday with more than 1,400 students and 140 teachers. The City Council has allocated €30,000 for school supply assistance for over 500 families.
The institutes in Osuna opened their doors this Tuesday, September 15 to students of Secondary, Baccalaureate, and Vocational Training. Between IES Francisco Rodríguez Marín and IES Sierra Sur, they total more than 1,400 students and around 140 teachers.
The incorporation has been staggered, as in previous stages. Students began arriving from 11:30 AM and remained at the centres until 2:45 PM. From this Wednesday, the schedule will be the usual: from 8:15 AM to 2:45 PM.
IES Rodríguez Marín celebrates its centenary this year and is the second oldest centre in the province of Seville. As a new feature, it has created spaces for inclusive and creative breaks, with activities aimed at students who need different leisure options. It has also completed the air conditioning of all classrooms and work areas.
Meanwhile, IES Sierra Sur introduces this year the higher degree cycle of Health Equipment and Administration.
This week, classes have also started at the Elementary and Professional Conservatory of Music, with nearly 400 students, and at the Centro de Educación Permanente Claro Campoamor, with around 200 enrolled in its various courses.
The City Council of Osuna continues the school supply assistance programme for another year, which in this edition has included €30,000 and has benefited over 500 families from Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary education. Additionally, the entire educational community has free access to urban public transport for commuting to and from the centres, a measure extendable to the entire population through vouchers.
The educational calendar will be completed next Monday, September 21 with the start of the degrees at the Higher School of Artistic Education and the Higher School of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage. Following that, the Municipal Language School will commence.
With these openings, Osuna covers all stages of regulated and complementary education, from Early Childhood to university. The local educational community comprises over 6,000 students, according to municipal data.
