The Carlos Álvarez Novoa Municipal Theatre will host the talk 'Beyond the Horizon: The Path to Mars' at 19:30, followed by telescope observations at the Arab Baths at 21:00. Registrations are now open at the Municipal Library.

The astronomical communicator Marga Macías, from the FAAE and the Astromares Association, will kick off the day with a conference titled 'Beyond the Horizon: The Path to Mars'. The event will take place at 19:30 at the Carlos Álvarez Novoa Municipal Theatre in Palomares del Río.

During the talk, topics such as what the red planet is really like, what has been discovered thanks to space missions, and whether it will ever be possible to travel there will be discussed. The main challenges of a manned mission will also be reviewed: the enormous distances, radiation, gravity, extreme temperatures, and the resources needed to survive on another planet.

The activity is designed for all audiences and does not require prior knowledge of astronomy.

After the conference, at 21:00, exploration will continue at the Arab Baths with the activity 'From Palomares to the Sky 2026'. Telescopes will be set up there to observe the Moon, Saturn, and other objects in the night sky.

Registrations to participate in this astronomical day are managed through the 'Manuel Casado Moreno' Municipal Library. Interested individuals can call 637 960 750 during 9:00 to 14:00 or write an email to bibliotecapalomares@gmail.com.

The initiative is organized by the Palomares del Río Town Hall together with the Astromares Association.
