The municipality of Aljarafe celebrated a night of scientific outreach with a conference on Mars exploration and an astronomical observation at the Arab Baths that brought together residents of all ages.
The Cultural delegation of the Palomares del Río Town Hall, as part of its #PalomaresHabitable programme, organised a double event with science and the sky this Saturday that filled two municipal spaces.
The day began at the Carlos Álvarez Novoa Municipal Theatre with the conference “Beyond the Horizon: The Path to Mars”, delivered by science communicator Marga Macía. During the talk, attendees took a virtual journey through the cosmos and learned about the progress of space exploration and the challenges that will shape humanity's future on its way to the red planet.
At night, the activity moved to the Arab Baths, where a new edition of “From Palomares to the Sky 2026” was held. With telescopes from Astromares, residents of all ages were able to observe the Moon and Saturn in a session that extended among stars and curiosity.
The Town Hall has appreciated the public's response and announced that it will continue to programme astronomical observation activities in the municipality, albeit with new approaches. The next event will be communicated through the official channels of the council.
