The Mairena del Aljarafe City Council has allocated 618,000 euros for works, maintenance, and services in the eight CEIPs of the municipality. The mayor, Antonio Conde, inaugurated the school year at Los Rosales, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The eight Early Childhood and Primary Education Centres in Mairena del Aljarafe opened their classrooms this Thursday, 10th September, for the second cycle of Early Childhood and Primary Education. The City Council has carried out 35 actions and allocated 618,000 euros for works, maintenance, services, and educational programmes in these centres.
The mayor, Antonio Conde, presided over the opening of the school year at CEIP Los Rosales, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, alongside the councillor for Planning and Educational Commitment, Blanca de Pablos.

Of the 35 actions, 23 have been carried out by municipal services using their own resources. These include educational programming, with 29 proposals for all centres, interior painting work, cleaning of the sewage network in CEIPs El Olivo, Giner de los Ríos, and Miguel Hernández, and a review of the entire plumbing installation.
Broken glass and sanitary fixtures have also been replaced, bamboo units at CEIP Malala have been repaired, the awning in the Early Childhood area has been restored, and a methacrylate skylight at El Olivo has been replaced, along with deep cleaning, brush clearing, tree trimming, and hedge cutting.
The list is completed with periodic electrical inspections, provision of materials to caretakers for repairs, exterior lighting actions, replacement of lighting fixtures in multipurpose rooms, inspection of fire protection systems and the electrical system of elevators, maintenance of horizontal signage, pest control, and inspection of playground areas in all schools.
Among the investments and contracted services, there are a total of 12 items. The largest is the work on the roof of the building and the interior wall of the playground at CEIP Miguel Hernández, costing 156,000 euros. This is followed by support and reinforcement services for teachers in the 3-year-old classrooms, costing 140,000 euros.
The school swimming programme has 62,000 euros allocated for instructors; school transport for those participating in the municipal educational programme has 57,108 euros; assistance for school materials has 43,000 euros; natural gas supply has 42,000 euros; and sessions for youth emotional well-being have 26,000 euros.
The complete interior painting of CEIPs Guadalquivir and Lepanto has been budgeted at 34,125 and 42,539 euros, respectively. Additionally, water fountains have been renewed for 7,500 euros and the supply and maintenance of metalwork has been contracted for another 7,500 euros.
With these figures, the City Council continues its plan to improve public schools in the locality, starting the school year with reinforced 3-year-old classrooms and reviewed playground areas in all eight centres.
