The Mairena del Aljarafe City Council announces the Superamos grants with a budget of €90,000, 20% more than last year. Applications can be submitted from today until August 18.
The City Council of Mairena del Aljarafe has launched the new call for Superamos grants, aimed at athletes, clubs, and local entities that have competed in federated categories during the 2025/2026 season. The total amount rises to €90,000, compared to €75,000 from the previous edition, representing a 20% increase and marking two consecutive years of growth.
The mayor, Antonio Conde, has justified the financial boost as support for local talent: "our goal is to continue recognising, and increasingly so, the effort and talent of our athletes and clubs." In his opinion, these groups "carry the name of Mairena wherever they compete and help us strengthen that mairenismo that unites those who have always lived here and those who have chosen our town to build their life project."
The grants are awarded on a basis of competitive concurrence and are structured into four lines. Line 1 finances grassroots sports projects and sports schools; Line 2A supports training and technical development of teams and entities in official competitions; Line 2B is for outstanding athletes; and Line 3 covers the organisation of sports events.
In lines 1 and 2A, up to €15,000 of the grant will be earmarked for the purchase of defibrillators and related training, a requirement aimed at enhancing safety in sports facilities and activities.
Applications are processed electronically through the electronic headquarters of the Municipal Institute of Citizen Dynamisation, which can also be accessed from the council's website. The call was published on August 4 in the Official Bulletin of the Province, meaning the submission period, lasting ten working days, began on Wednesday, August 5 and will end on Tuesday, August 18.
These grants are not exclusive of other municipal subsidies, such as those managed by the Social Participation Area, allowing Mairena clubs to combine various funding sources for their projects.
