The Osuna Town Council has begun construction on the new Sociocultural Multifunctional Centre at the fairgrounds, a permanent building covering 1,200 square metres that will house the Municipal Pavilion during the May Fair. The project, with an investment of 1.5 million euros, is being carried out by the local company Ufacon.

The mayor, Rosario Andújar, expressed her satisfaction with the start of a project she described as "emblematic" due to the use the space will have and the opportunities it will offer to the municipality. She also expressed her "peace of mind" in having a local architect and construction company, "who care about our town and will put their best effort into ensuring the project is completed under the best possible conditions."
The new facility will allow for an expanded range of activities throughout the year, with cultural, musical, exhibitions, and other events that, due to their characteristics or capacity, cannot be held in the Álvarez Quintero Theatre. Its versatility will also allow for other occasional uses, such as hosting a market when rain prevents outdoor celebrations, thus avoiding losses for traders.
The mayor emphasised the improvements this will bring to the May Fair, as it will feature larger, more comfortable, and suitable facilities for artists, workers, and the public. The space will include a kitchen, bar, toilets, accessibility, and climate control, enhancing the conditions for those participating in the fair.
Andújar also highlighted the economic savings the permanent building will provide, as each year the costs associated with setting up and dismantling the Municipal Pavilion will be eliminated, which involved considerable investment. The new facilities will also improve safety, health, and hygiene conditions during the event.
"This is a project we had planned for quite some time, but things cannot be done when one wants, but when it is possible, and logically our town also deserves a building of this kind," the mayor stated.
According to the project architect, Nicolás García, the building will cover approximately 1,200 square metres and will consist of two distinct volumes. The main one, slightly over 800 square metres, will house the multifunctional space for recreational, cultural, and sports activities, while the second will be dedicated to services, offices, and auxiliary rooms. It will include dressing rooms, toilets, access points, and fire protection systems.
The project, executed by the local company Ufacon, has an investment of around 1.5 million euros from the Osuna Town Council and the Seville Provincial Council. The new centre will provide the fairgrounds with a modern and versatile space that will invigorate the cultural, social, and leisure life of the municipality.
