The free outdoor cinema cycle in Gines, 'Wednesday Cinema', celebrated its second session with 'Wild Robot'. The municipal initiative will continue until September with eight screenings in different parks.
The second session of the 'Wednesday Cinema' cycle in Gines brought together dozens of locals at the Pinar de San Ginés to enjoy the animated film 'Wild Robot'. The film, which tells the story of the robot Roz on a deserted island, was chosen for last Wednesday's evening.
A summer of free cinema in the parks of Gines
The programme, organised by the Cultural Area of the Gines Town Hall, includes a total of eight family-friendly and free screenings. All sessions start at 22:30, except for those in August, which begin half an hour earlier. The cycle has become an unmissable event for locals, who can enjoy outdoor cinema at no cost.
The next event will be on 22nd July at the Teniente Guillermo Antúnez Park, featuring the screening of 'A Minecraft Movie'. On 29th July, the same venue will show 'How to Train Your Dragon'. Both sessions will start at 22:30.
August and September: more cinema at various locations in the municipality
In August, screenings will start at 22:00. On the 5th, the 'El Cortijuelo' Park will host 'Mufasa: The Lion King'. The Concejala Dolores Camino Park will be the venue for two nights: on 12th August with 'Snow White' and on 19th with 'Lilo & Stitch'. The cycle will conclude at the Manolo Pérez Park, with 'Elio' on 26th August at 21:30 and 'Bad Guys 2' on 2nd September at the same time.
The Town Hall recommends attendees to bring their own chair for added comfort, as all sessions are held outdoors in natural settings. The initiative aims to bring cinema to all corners of the municipality and promote family leisure during the summer months.
With this proposal, Gines consolidates a summer leisure alternative that combines culture, nature, and free access. The variety of titles, ranging from animation to adventures, guarantees options for all audiences. Locals are already eagerly anticipating the upcoming sessions, which promise to fill the park nights with magic and entertainment.
