The Gines Town Hall renews more than 50 dispensers for pet waste collection every day, distributed throughout the municipality. This initiative is part of the municipal campaign 'Says a lot about you' and aims to ensure the cleanliness of streets and green areas.
The distribution points are located in parks as well as on various streets, and they are restocked daily, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The work is carried out by the park surveillance and maintenance staff, who ensure that bags are always available for dog owners.
The bags, made from recycled and recyclable material, are provided free of charge. The council emphasizes that this measure aims to promote civic responsibility and keep public spaces in good condition.
Free bottles for urine cleaning
In addition to the bags, the Town Hall offers reusable bottles for residents to clean up their dogs' urine in public areas. These bottles, which are filled with water and soap, help prevent bad smells and stains on facades, lampposts, benches, or corners.
The bottles are provided free of charge at the Sustainability delegation, located in the Caballerizas building, in the main courtyard of the El Santo Ángel estate, the headquarters of the Gines Town Hall.
The council appreciates the collaboration of pet owners and reminds everyone that responsible behaviour contributes to a cleaner and more pleasant coexistence for all.
Fines of up to 750 euros
The municipal Animal Ownership Ordinance establishes penalties for those who do not comply with these rules. Not carrying bags or bottles for cleaning up dog faeces and urine can result in fines ranging from 300 to 750 euros.
With this campaign, the Gines Town Hall reinforces its commitment to street cleanliness and the care of public spaces, a task that remains active throughout the year.
