Two buses with 120 residents of Gines travelled this Thursday, 23rd July, to the beach of Isla Cristina, in Huelva, as part of the municipal programme 'Los Jueves al Sol' 2026.
The beach in Isla Cristina has been the setting for the third outing of the 'Los Jueves al Sol' 2026 programme, organised by the Gines Town Hall. A total of 120 people, of all ages, travelled this Thursday, 23rd July, in two full buses to enjoy a day at the beach.
This municipal initiative, now well-established after several years, allows the residents of Gines to access coastal destinations in a comfortable, direct, and economical way. Each outing costs 8 euros, with reduced rates of 7 euros for unemployed individuals, retirees, and large families, upon presentation of the relevant documentation.
Minors must be accompanied, with a limit of five minors per adult. Registrations are made at the Casa del Mayor, in Plaza de España, from 9:00 to 14:00 hours, on the Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays prior to each excursion, until places are filled. A maximum of five registrations per person is allowed.
The cycle of outings will continue on 30th July to Urbasur (Islantilla, Huelva). In August, the planned beaches are La Victoria (Cádiz) on the 6th, El Palmar (Cádiz) on the 13th, Punta Umbría (Huelva) on the 20th, and as a grand finale, Barbate (Cádiz) on 27th August.
With this proposal, the Gines Town Hall aims to facilitate summer leisure for its residents, offering affordable alternatives to enjoy the summer without the need for personal vehicle travel. The reception of the initiative remains positive, as evidenced by the full occupancy of the buses on this third outing.
