The fairground of Castilleja de la Cuesta will be illuminated this Thursday at 21:00. The mayor, Carmen Herrera, will be responsible for activating the lighting button that officially opens the 2026 Fair, which will run until Sunday 20 September.
The Town Hall has scheduled seven free concerts and DJ sessions for the four days. The musical offer includes pop, pop-rock, sevillanas, flamenco-pop, and carnival, aiming to reach audiences of different generations.
The first night, on Thursday 17 September, will feature La Chirigota del Bizcocho, the winning group of the Cádiz Carnival, who will open the fair with their humorous repertoire.
On Friday 18, Siempre Así, a group of sevillanas and Andalusian music, will take the stage, followed by Junior and La Flaka with a joint show for the early hours.
Saturday 19 will concentrate two of the most awaited names: Los del Río, creators of Macarena, and David Bustamante, who will review his most well-known hits.
The closing on Sunday 20 will feature Mujeres por Sevillanas, a tribute to the genre from a female perspective, and La Guardia, a Spanish pop-rock band that will provide the final touch.
“It reinforces our commitment to offer an open, participatory, and quality fair, with free performances designed for the enjoyment of all citizens and those visiting the municipality during these days,” emphasised the mayor, Carmen Herrera.
The fair also reserves space for the younger ones. There will be a tent dedicated to boys and girls aged 12 to 16 years with video games, interactive games, and inflatables. For the little ones, the venue will have bouncy castles, attractions, and a playroom service available during the concerts.
The Town Hall has also organised a display of Andalusian donkey training and handling on Friday 18 at 21:00, a foam party on Saturday 19 from 16:30, a performance by Guerreras del Kpop on Sunday 20 at 13:00, and a water battle on that same Sunday at 20:00.
Culinary offerings will also play a significant role with a dozen stalls where local hospitality businesses will offer dishes, tapas, and drinks in a family-friendly atmosphere.
The Castilleja de la Cuesta Fair is held this year from 17 to 20 September and maintains free access to all scheduled concerts and activities.
