The Press Room of the Estepa Town Hall has hosted the Ordinary Assembly of the Association of Municipalities of the Camino de Santiago del Infante, which brings together localities from Seville, Málaga, and Córdoba. The meeting addressed new signage, a promotional audiovisual guide, and the Track project to follow the route.

The Press Room of the Estepa Town Hall was the venue this Friday for the Ordinary Assembly of the Association of Municipalities of the Camino de Santiago del Infante, an entity that groups localities from the provinces of Seville, Málaga, and Córdoba. The meeting served to review the planned actions aimed at promoting and publicising this Jacobean route.

Among the projects discussed, the installation of new signage in the participating municipalities, the presentation of a promotional audiovisual guide, and the development of the Track Camino de Santiago del Infante project stand out, a tool that will allow identification and tracking of the route through the various localities.

The association, formally established in October 2024 during an event held in Aguadulce, has received recognitions for tourism excellence for its work in promoting and energising this itinerary. The route recovers the historical path linked to the reconquest of Antequera by Infante Don Fernando in 1410 and is currently part of the Jacobean routes in Andalucía.

The meeting was presided over by the association's president and mayor of Alameda, José García Orejuela, and coordinated by Jesús M. González. As the host, the First Deputy Mayor of the Estepa Town Hall, Asunción Llamas, welcomed the representatives of the participating municipalities.

"It is essential to continue working together to promote this path and the municipalities it traverses," Llamas stated during her speech.

In addition to Estepa, municipalities such as Antequera, Alameda, Osuna, Badolatosa, Aguadulce, Lora de Estepa, Casariche, and La Roda de Andalucía are also participating in the association. The assembly brought together representatives from these localities to coordinate the next steps for the route.

With these initiatives, the involved municipalities aim to increase the visibility of the Camino del Infante and attract more pilgrims and visitors, which could impact the local economy of each of the towns along the itinerary.
