The City Council of Lora del Río has obtained €7.98 million in grants during 2025 and already totals €2.7 million so far in 2026. The mayor highlights the work of the municipal Grants Office in securing resources from other administrations.
The City Council of Lora del Río has managed to secure nearly €8 million in grants during the past year 2025, a figure that reflects the work of the Grants Department created to manage and follow up on aid calls. Furthermore, in the first months of 2026, an additional €2.7 million has already been obtained, as reported this Thursday by the mayor, Antonio Miguel Enamorado, and the councillor for Finance, José Manuel Arancón.
In a press conference held on the morning of July 30, municipal officials detailed that during 2025 the City Council submitted applications for a total amount of €11,146,374.37 to the Provincial Council of Seville, the Regional Government of Andalusia, and the Government of Spain. Of that amount, €7,978,384.44 was granted, representing a 72% success rate in the applications.
To execute the projects linked to these grants, the City Council has had to contribute €2,942,553.09 from its own funds, a necessary complement to make investments a reality that, according to the mayor, are already being seen in the municipality. Among the examples cited, Enamorado mentioned the growth of infrastructure in the Sports City and the construction of the new building for the Municipal Public Library.
The mayor wanted to publicly thank the work of the councillor responsible for the Grants area, Reme Gómez Martín, and her entire team. “We are seeing the results of this great work in the improvements being carried out in our locality,” he stated, emphasising that each grant obtained translates into new investments and opportunities for the residents.
For his part, José Manuel Arancón explained that grants are a key tool for the City Council to continue investing in public services without placing the entire burden on municipal finances. “We want to offer the citizens all the transparency and information possible regarding the management of these aids,” pointed out the finance councillor.
Looking ahead to 2026, the City Council has so far submitted 31 grant applications for a potential amount of €7,492,603. Of these, €2,718,849 has already been granted, with a municipal contribution of €755,699. Arancón highlighted that these figures reflect “the intense work being done to apply for all those calls that could represent an opportunity for Lora del Río.”
The councillor added that the goal is for each grant to transform into a real improvement: more jobs, better infrastructure, more public housing, better rural roads, more training, and higher quality public services. “We want to execute useful investments and continue building a town with more opportunities,” he asserted.
During the appearance, the mayor also had words of congratulations for the until now councillor Rafael Navarro Iribarnegaray, recently appointed provincial coordinator of the Andalusian Youth Institute (IAJ) in Seville. “We continue to export young people to the Regional Government of Andalusia and I am sure Rafael will do very well, always working for the interests of Lora del Río,” Enamorado stated, wishing him success in his new professional stage.
The City Council of Lora del Río plans to continue actively seeking resources from other administrations to complement municipal funds and continue promoting the economic and social development of the municipality. The Grants Office, created just over a year ago, has established itself as a key department in managing aids, with constant monitoring of the calls published by various administrations.
The residents of Lora del Río are the direct recipients of these investments, which materialise in visible improvements in the day-to-day life of the municipality. According to data provided by the City Council, the pace of fund acquisition remains stable, with prospects of continued growth throughout the year.
