The Youth and Childhood department of La Rinconada has awarded diplomas to over 250 participants in the workshops held in June and July. The closing event took place in the auditorium of La Estación.
More than 250 young people from La Rinconada participated this summer in the new edition of 'Summer in the Centre', the educational leisure programme organised by the municipal Youth and Childhood department during the holidays. The initiative combined training, personal development, and community engagement in the months of June and July.
The closing ceremony was held in the auditorium of La Estación, where the department delegates, Mercedes Bueno and Minerva Calderón, presented participation certificates to the attendees. According to the City Council, the atmosphere was marked by camaraderie and pride among the young people and their families.
Bueno reflected on the event and highlighted the response from participants.
"This edition has once again confirmed that young people respond when attractive and quality proposals are offered. We have had high participation in the activities, demonstrating that summer can also be a time for training, acquiring new skills, and enjoying healthy leisure activities."
For her part, Calderón encouraged young people to continue enrolling in the courses offered by the Youth Department and to share their suggestions for improving future editions.
The programme included courses on Premonitoring and Children and Youth Activity Facilitation, where participants learned to design and develop activities for children. As part of their training, they collaborated in the Urban Camp organised by the department at CEIP La Paz and organised an afternoon of games in Dehesa Boyal park.
Technology played a significant role with workshops on Office Automation and Artificial Intelligence and Digital Creators, aimed at responsible and creative use of digital tools. A new course, Speak and Play in Korean, generated notable interest and introduced young people to the Korean language and culture through a participatory methodology.
The offering was completed with workshops on Personal Growth OPI and Youth Participation, designed to strengthen personal and social skills and engage young people in community life. Additionally, excursions were organised to Punta del Moral, Bolonia, and Portugal, featuring days of community activities, water sports, and visits to natural and cultural sites.
