The La Rinconada City Council grants the National Creative Factory of Letters Prize to the Cordoban writer Salvador Gutiérrez Solís. The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, September 17, at 20:00, in the La Villa Cultural Centre.

The La Rinconada City Council has decided to award the National Creative Factory of Letters Prize to writer Salvador Gutiérrez Solís, as reported by the Cultural Delegate, Raquel Vega. The award recognises a literary career and the author's contribution to the dissemination of culture.

The ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 17, at 20:00, in the La Villa Cultural Centre in La Rinconada. The event will be hosted by journalist and writer Mercedes de Pablos and will serve to launch the autumn edition of the Station of Letters programme.

Gutiérrez Solís (Córdoba) is a novelist, essayist, columnist, and cultural promoter. Among his works, the trilogy featuring Inspector Carmen Puerto stands out, comprising 'The Anonymous Lovers', 'The Language of Tides', and 'Only Those Who Die Truly Live'.

His novel 'The Impostor's Strategy' (2025) won the Jaén Novel Prize. He was also a finalist for the Fernando Lara Prize with 'The Captive Feeling' (2005) and for the National Critics Prize for 'The Novel of a Bad-Tempered Novelist'. In 2012, he won the Andalusia Critics Prize with 'The Frozen Climber'. Throughout his career, he has also received the University of Seville Novel Prize, the Juan Valera Novel Prize, and the Córdoba Provincial Novel Prize.

The author has a close relationship with La Rinconada. He is a member of the Reader Council of the Letters of La Rinconada and a judge for the Almudena Grandes Prize, and has collaborated on cultural initiatives in the municipality.

The Cultural Delegate, Raquel Vega, has stated that the prize distinguishes those who see literary creation as a commitment to society:

“The granting of this award represents recognition for those who understand literary creation as a permanent commitment to society and culture. The career of Salvador Gutiérrez Solís embodies the values of excellence, creativity, innovation, and intellectual generosity that inspire the Station of Letters project and have made La Rinconada a reference point for promoting reading and thought.”

The Station of Letters 2026 programme has received the National Reading Promotion Prize awarded by the Government of Spain. The event on September 17 opens its autumn season.
