José Manuel Zea, Carlos Román and Adrián Borreguero dominate the podium at the III Copa Andalucía IMDECO 2026 in Córdoba. Sandra Grimaret is crowned champion in Ayamonte.
The San José Table Tennis Club has had a weekend of outstanding results. Its players dominated the podium at the III Copa Andalucía IMDECO 2026, held on Sunday at the 6 to 8 Table Tennis Club in Córdoba, and also secured the children's title for Sandra Grimaret at the XII Hours of Table Tennis in Ayamonte, which took place on Saturday 12th September.
The full set of medals in Córdoba was achieved with José Manuel Zea at the top. The player was crowned champion of the Copa Andalucía after a steady competition, where he improved throughout to secure the title.
The silver went to Carlos Román, who delivered a great performance and came just shy of gold. The bronze was awarded to Adrián Borreguero. All three club representatives occupied the top three positions, a result that confirms the depth of the Rinconada squad.
In the training categories, four homegrown players defended the colours of San José in Córdoba: Sandra Grimaret, Diego Ramos, Alexis Martínez and Manuel Méndez. All advanced past the group stage, although they fell in the round of 16 against nationally ranked opponents. Their progression to the knockout stages allowed them to gain experience in a demanding tournament.
Saturday's event had another setting. In Ayamonte, Sandra Grimaret was crowned children's champion of the XII Hours of Table Tennis, a traditional event in the Andalusian summer calendar. The young player from the Rinconada club triumphed in her category in a tournament that gathers participants from various backgrounds, including Portuguese athletes, raising the level of competition.
The double success reinforces the work that CTM San José carries out with both its more experienced players and the new generations. The organisation, based in La Rinconada, once again places its athletes at the top of Andalusian events.
