The Club Tenis de Mesa San José from La Rinconada has returned from the Provincial Championship of Andalusia with a tally of three medals. The event took place last weekend in the Cordoban town of La Rambla and brought together the best grassroots players from each Andalusian province.
The most notable result came from Alexis Martínez, who was crowned champion in the alevín category. The young player excelled in his competition and added his performance to the overall title achieved by the Sevilla selection.
Alongside him, two other athletes from the club were part of the Sevilla team. Adrián Borreguero competed in the under-21 category and José Manuel Zea in senior. Both achieved third places, reinforcing the presence of Rinconero table tennis at the regional level.
All three were selected by the provincial delegate of Sevilla based on their performance and level throughout the season. The competition was held in a team format, where each player contributes their results to the overall score of the province they represent.
The championship, reserved for promising and top players from each province, serves as a showcase for grassroots Andalusian sport. In this context, the performance of the three players from CTM San José contributed to Sevilla's collective victory.
For the Rinconero club, the outcome is particularly positive: three of its players were chosen for the provincial selection and all three returned with a medal. Table tennis in La Rinconada thus adds a new chapter to its sporting journey.
