The Velá de Santiago and Santa Ana returns to Triana from July 14 to 26, 2026, featuring concerts by Luitingo, Cantores de Híspalis, and Los Alpresa, along with sports activities, flamenco, and the traditional cucaña on Calle Betis.
The Triana neighbourhood is once again adorned to host one of the most anticipated events on the Seville calendar: the Velá de Santiago and Santa Ana. The 2026 edition will kick off on July 14 with preliminary activities and will have its main days from July 21 to 26, with around thirty free proposals spread across Altozano, Calle Betis, and other iconic locations.
The programme, presented by the City Council of Seville through the Triana District, combines music, sport, tradition, and cultural events for all audiences. The district's delegate councillor, Minerva Salas, highlighted that the evening “maintains its traditional essence, reinforcing community participation and the identity of the neighbourhood.”
Concerts and Flamenco at Altozano
The Altozano stage will be the musical epicentre. On July 22, Luitingo will perform alongside El Charro de Triana. The following day, Cantores de Híspalis will celebrate their 50 years of career. On July 24, the Flamenco Festival dedicated to Nano de Jerez will feature artists such as Macanita, José Gálvez, and Montse Cortés.
The gala Mujeres Trianeras on July 25 will bring together Silvia Pantoja, Rocío Díaz, La Flaka, and Pilar Astola. The grand finale will be provided by Los Alpresa on July 26, following the fireworks. All performances are free and start at 22:00 hours.
Sports and Traditions by the Guadalquivir
The evening would not be the same without the cucaña, which will return to the zapata of Calle Betis from July 22 to 26, operating from 18:00 to 21:00 hours. The sports competitions include aquathlon, beach handball, football 7, paddle, and dominoes, held at venues such as the Vega de Triana Sports Centre and the Triana Bridge.
The Fishing Contest on the 26th at 08:30 at Paseo de la O, and the Night Regatta of Triana on July 22, complete the river activities. For the locals, these activities serve as an intergenerational meeting point that strengthens community life.
Talks, Exhibitions, and Opening Speech
The opening speech of the Velá will be given by Jesús Pozuelo on July 21 at 22:00 hours at Altozano. The photographic exhibition “Triana and its People, Portrait of a Neighbourhood”, by Juan Romero Prieto, will be open for viewing from July 14 to 31 at C.C. Las Columnas.
The cultural programme includes lectures such as “Triana in Painting” (July 22) and “Architecture and Regionalism in Triana” (July 23), both at the Triana Market. On July 24, Aníbal González Serrano will speak about “Aníbal González and Triana” at the same location.
The Procession of the Virgen del Carmen on July 17, from the Capilla de la Estrella to the river, and the Corral de Comedias on July 15 and 16 at Colegio San Jacinto, complete the offerings for tradition lovers.
Practical Information for Visitors
All events are free to access until capacity is reached. The City Council recommends using public transport, especially metro line L1 (stop Puerta de Jerez) and bus lines C1, C2, 5, and 43.
