The State Meteorological Agency has activated a yellow alert for maximum temperatures in the Sevillian Countryside. 38 degrees are expected at 17:00 and minimums of 22.

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has activated a yellow alert for this Wednesday in the Sevillian Countryside due to maximum temperatures reaching 38 degrees at 17:00 hours. The day will start with mostly clear skies that will gradually clear throughout the day, according to the official forecast.

The thermometer will register a minimum of 22 degrees at 07:00, although the thermal sensation will be around 21 degrees. The wind will blow lightly from the southwest, with no significant gusts expected. The yellow alert implies a risk for outdoor activities, especially during the central hours of the day.

Recommendations for the residents of the Countryside

AEMET reminds that with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees, it is important to take extra precautions. It is recommended to avoid sun exposure between 12:00 and 18:00, hydrate frequently, and pay special attention to elderly people and children. Municipalities such as Écija, Osuna, or Marchena are among those that will be under warning.

The yellow alert is the lowest level of the three existing, but should not be taken lightly. In the Sevillian Countryside, high temperatures are common in summer, but today a thermal peak is expected that could slightly exceed the average of the last week.

“The population is advised to avoid outdoor sports activities during the hottest hours and to keep homes cool,” AEMET sources state.

Forecast for the coming days

Tomorrow, Thursday, the outlook will be similar: mostly clear skies and temperatures around 38 degrees maximum and 21 minimum. The wind will remain light from the southwest. For Friday, the trend remains stable, with maximums of 38 degrees and minimums of 21, with no chance of rain.

The thermal sensation will be particularly high during the central hours, so it is advisable to plan outings for early morning or at sunset. In the capital, although it is not under alert, temperatures will also be high, with maximums close to 36 degrees.

For the weekend, models indicate a slight thermal decrease, although no precipitation is in sight. The drought remains a concern in the province, and these heat episodes only exacerbate it. Farmers in the Countryside, especially olive growers, are attentive to the weather developments.

AEMET continuously updates its warnings, so it is recommended to consult the official website for any changes. For now, the yellow alert will be active until 21:00 hours today.
