The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Sevilla, Francisco Herrero, will participate tomorrow in the support gathering for Ceuta and calls on the Sevillian business community to back the events in the town halls.
The Chamber of Commerce of Sevilla has made a call to the companies in the province to join the support gatherings for Ceuta organised in the town halls. Its president, Francisco Herrero, will participate tomorrow Wednesday 2nd September in the event planned in the capital of Seville.
The Sevillian chamber institution wants to express its utmost solidarity with the Chamber of Commerce of Ceuta, the Ceutan entrepreneurs, and the entire citizenry, who are going through a complicated social and economic situation following the crisis experienced in recent months.
According to data released by the Chamber of Ceuta, the crisis has caused direct economic losses of €33,038,768 between the last days of July and the end of August. This updated balance increases by €5.28 million, nearly 19%, the estimate presented at the beginning of the month, confirming that the drop in activity has been more intense and prolonged than expected.
“There has been a collapse in sales in local businesses of between 55% and 90%, along with a reputational damage estimated at €170 million,” reports the Chamber of Commerce of Ceuta.
The Chamber of Sevilla warns that this economic situation could worsen in the coming days if measures are not implemented as soon as possible. Therefore, the institution requests the Sevillian economic sector to show its solidarity with the companies, commerce, and citizens of Ceuta.
The support gatherings will be held in various locations across the province. Francisco Herrero's call encourages participation in the events organised in the town halls, where a broad response from the Sevillian business community is expected.
